About the Role:

Clinical Duties

  • Provide high quality expert Expressive Arts Therapy including the; planning, designing and facilitation of rehabilitation program.
  • Provide age and developmentally appropriate Arts Therapy group interventions that help to build or rebuild positive coping skills and provide emotional support. Establishing appropriate S.M.A.R.T. treatment goals.
  • Provide individual, group, couple, and family Arts Therapy.
  • Flexibly manage a varied caseload of both residential and ambulatory care Patients with complex needs, using evidence-based person-centred principles.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and delivery of care.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment for procurement.

Educational Duties

  • Participate in and lead Expressive Arts Therapy in-service development.
  •  Participate in Naufar service improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the teaching of other multi-disciplinary team members, clinical and non-clinical staff, and others to promote understanding of Expressive Arts Therapy to enhance Patient’s recovery.

Generic Accountabilities

  • Assist in the setup, organization, and operation of Naufar clinical services.

Related Assignments

  • Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Job Requirements

Professional/Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Science (Arts, Psychology, Sociology, Nursing or Counseling)
  • Master’s degree/ Post Graduate degree or equivalent in Art Therapy OR Music therapy OR Drama Therapy OR Expressive Arts Therapy.
  • Arts with integrated credited courses in psychology, sociology, counseling, and human behavior for children, young and adults.
  • Psychology with integrated credited courses in Arts and art practice.

Certification/ Licensure:

  • Valid Primary license from the country of origin as registered professional member with recognized Art therapy Association recognized by ministry of health in the same country. (IEATA, AATA, ECArTE, CATA/ACAT, BADTH.) “if applicable”
  • Eligible for license from the Licensing authority in the State of Qatar.
  • Up-to date CPD in relevant clinical/counselling psychology areas.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ full time of Art therapy practice in clinical setting, social, education or rehabilitation centers.
  • Multidisciplinary experience across the fields of mental and physical health.
  • Previous experience in area of personality disorders treatment and/or posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
